Should we also abolish impeachment? The same arguments apply. An election is always on the horizon. Why not let the malfeasant officer serve out his term and let the voters decide at the regular election?

The California constitution already allows for impeachment. Do we also need the recall? Regardless, the strategic mistake here was not challenging the 3 month signature gathering extension. The recall signature timeline was set in the Ca constitution

I agree it was a strategic mistake for the Democrats/the State not to appeal the Sacramento judge's ruling granting more time to collect signatures. I think they were overconfident and didn't think it mattered.
