maybe this is common knowledge to you MMO dudes but it's new to me: FF14 producer Yoshi-P was one of the directors on Bomberman 64: Second Attack and there are multiple references to B64-2's story in FF14 (& endless jokes about FF14 in the comments on B64-2 NND videos)

also from that interview: Yoshi-P says he played a loctest version of Street Fighter EX & won 57 games in a row with Zangief, even beating Arika's staffers when they challenged him, so when the game eventually came out & Zangief was super weak he wondered if it might be his fault

later on, around the time of SFEX2, Yoshi-P happened to meet with Arika; he told this story and the person he was talking to was all "oh yeah, I remember hearing about how they had to tone down Zangief because some guy bodied everyone at AOU"
