Everyone is trying to get on the open-access gravy train. I’m not sure that it’s good for scientific discourse. That mouse torture HPV vaccine article you’ve written about is a perfect example. Had to be retracted. I wish Nature and JAMA would get their act together.

The lower impact open access journals should not (and do not) have lower standards of scientific rigor than the prestigious journals. There's actual metascience showing that. The findings may not be important enough for the flagship journal, but that is a different question.
