BREAKING: The House of Reps. plans to vote as early as Tuesday on the Senate’s #RightToTry bill (S.204)—a bill significantly worse than the House version you helped us stall last month. Tell your Rep. to protect #patients & #VoteNo on this dangerous bill.http://bit.ly/2ISKswA

As the spouse of a brain cancer patient, I disagree with @BCAction ’s recommendation. Doctor: There’s nothing else we can do. Patient: Can I try an experimental therapy, before I die? FDA: No, it would be unsafe. You could die. #RightToTry #Commonsense #BTSM

Did you join the webinar they hosted to explain their stance? They are pro access to investigational drugs. They are con legislation that claims to provide such but doesn't

Exactly. #RightToTry us a cruel sham that takes advantage of the most desperate patients and hides an agenda that is actually anti-patient.https://sciencebasedmedicine.org/the-very-worst-version-of-the-sham-known-as-right-to-try-is-poised-to-become-law/ …

Who's big Pharma? BCA accepts no pharma $. I accept no pharma $. I have no idea re @gorskon, but he's so forthright, I doubt pharma would want to fund him!! Name-calling gets nobody nowhere. Everybody here wants to help patients: the ? is, does having FDA oversight help or hurt?

Your article is spot on as to why #RightToTry failed at the state level. However, Expanded Access (Compassionate Use) is cumbersome and our #ClinicalTrials system needs overhauling. Thusly, leaving terminal patients with little to no options.

Again, agreed, but the question is WHY is expanded access cumbersome? The answer includes a million things, but it notably does NOT include the FDA, which is super fast re expanded access. And what is the things Right to Try targeted? The FDA.
