He's right. All it takes to realize that the claim that 400K (or even 250K) deaths are due to "medical errors" is pure BS is to realize that, for that to be true, from >⅓ to >½ of all hospital deaths (700K/yr) would have to be due to error. The numbers don't add up. 1/ https://twitter.com/benmazer/status/977215717211803648 …

I discussed this issue in detail on
@ScienceBasedMed a while back. Basically these huge numbers of deaths sure to "medical error" are vastly inflated by study design and definitions of what constitutes an "error." 2/2https://sciencebasedmedicine.org/are-medical-errors-really-the-third-most-common-cause-of-death-in-the-u-s/ …1 reply 2 retweets 4 likesShow this thread -
Replying to @gorskon @ScienceBasedMed
Sadly some of the most vocal distributors of this message are doctors whose message is vital but surely a bit of common sense should rein the wild figures in. Not sure to whom
@BenMazer is referring but if they're a tweeter I've got an idea or 2.1 reply 0 retweets 1 like
