Thanks for pointing out this common fallacy. I sincerely wish I had a dollar for every time Ive heard it. And somehow it never comes up when there's a problem science can solve, like a treatable medical condition.

The fact that we showed that something we believed to be true was false IS science. The fact that something can be corrected and we admit we had it wrong is science. Saying we corrected our thought process shows that science is the correct way to gaining information.
