It's more than that, though. Medical school doesn't really teach students how to think scientifically. Rather, it teaches known science and how to "think like a doctor" (e.g. diagnosis). There's nothing wrong with that aspect of medical school. After all, most doctors will not engage in scientific research or otherwise do much in the way of science. The goal of medical school is to teach students how to think like doctors and the rudiments of patient care. /2

Personally, I want my doctor to be able to diagnose and treat what ails me, using existing science-based guidelines. One does not have to be a scientist to do that. Again, there's nothing wrong with that. I've discussed this many times before. /3
