It's also not that strong a link. Family history and reproductive history are much stronger. Chances are more likely than bit that alcohol didn't cause the woman's breast cancer.

I find a lot of folks are ignorant of the maths behind these reported increases in risk too. I.E. a report might claim a 25% increase in risk due to an activity, when a person's base risk might be somewhere around 0.4%, meaning the final total risk is.... 0.5%

Yeah, I've been meaning to do a post about risk factors like that. Also the relative risk for alcohol is only 1.15.
