Yes, the narrative of a "free speech crisis on campus" is flogged only when it serves the purposes of right wingers or old fart comics who haven't changed with the times and wine when criticized for misogynistic, racist, or ANTI-LGBTQ jokes. Its purpose is to suppress criticism.https://twitter.com/onesarahjones/status/983732298959990784 …

Do the usual critics of liberal campus protest really know what it's like to lack free speech? I don't think so, and here's why: https://newrepublic.com/article/147908/invisible-free-speech-crisis …

The same people crying about the "free speech crisis on campus" at the same time ignore the stifling of dissent at conservative and religious colleges.

I also love how "free speech warriors" take occasional egregious anecdotes and try to represent it as commonplace or even the rule. It's exactly what cancer quacks do: Pick an anecdote and use it as evidence for their woo.

NGO vs government institutions. A nongovernmental institution can censor whatever it wants. A government institution cannot.

No government institution is stifling speech. Free citizens attending those government institutions are protesting shitty speech.
