I think I'll pass, thank you, given that this film appears to be promoting the myth that medical mistakes are the third leading cause of death in the US and uses the most inflated figure I've seen, 440,000 per year.https://twitter.com/ToErrIsHumanDoc/status/972509973036044288 …

@gorskon Hi David, I would love to bring our documentary to Michigan if you think there may be a good opportunity to screen and have a follow-up panel. Could we connect via email?

Study Urges CDC to Revise Count of Deaths from Medical Error - If not for flawed tracking, medical mistakes would be the third-leading cause of death, researchers at Johns Hopkins say. https://www.propublica.org/article/study-urges-cdc-to-revise-count-of-deaths-from-medical-error …

No, it's the flawed reporting using trigger tools and then conflating complications with medical error that results in massive overestimation of deaths from medical mistakes, as I explained in my post.https://sciencebasedmedicine.org/are-medical-errors-really-the-third-most-common-cause-of-death-in-the-u-s/ …

I read you article. With all due respect, why not submit a similar paper with inclusive, accurate data for publication in a major peer reviewed journal instead of the the web publication of which you are the editor?

It makes rational sense that many deaths from strokes, infections etc...that happen in the hospital might be considered medical errors. That gets complicated because many are unavoidable or coincidental. I agree reporting data appropriately is paramount.
