I can’t tell you how many of my friends who are generally scientifically literate think acupuncture is legitimate. Sigh.

I just Tweeted yesterday about how around a decade ago I thought that there might be something to acupuncture. Then I extensively read the scientific literature on acupuncture. The more I read, the more underwhelmed I became, until I concluded acupuncture is a theatrical placebo.

I was once offered acupuncture for severe sacroiliac pain. The following day I was completely pain free. I’m not making this up. Oh, I nearly forgot..I didn’t accept the offer.
