I don't know if this will be a plus or down side, but, this will result in a several hour forced hiatus from Twitter. Unbelievably, they don't allow cell phones in the waiting room for jury selection. 2/

I mean, I can understand not allowing cell phones in the courtroom itself, but basically if you aren't press, staff, or a lawyer who tries cases there, you can't have a cell phone with you. What year is it, 1999? 3/

Oh, well, wish me luck going off to do my civic duty. They'd better not close the courthouse and then expect me to come back at a rescheduled town, or I will be seriously pissed. 4/

It'll probably be good for me to be unplugged for several hours, but on the other hand I'm helping out with other people's grants and will be unable to respond to questions or work on revisions they e-mail me. This will interfere. 5/5

I got a letter for jury duty not long ago. I replied that I don't have a car or a license, then got a letter saying I'm disqualified for jury duty. I mean I'm an anarcho-communist and also I've been involuntarily committed and I've been psychotic, so ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

Be safe on the way, maybe go early ? I hope they have good coffee in the jury room for you . . I was able to watch several documentaries during holding time waiting to see if I would be picked.
