I used to think that there might be something to acupuncture. I really did. But the more I evaluated the evidence, the more underwhelmed I was. Acupuncture is a theatrical placebo, nothing more. Harriet Hall agrees.https://sciencebasedmedicine.org/false-claims-for-acupuncture/ …

Sir: in science, peer review matters more than opinion. Please refer to the papers below, prior to reaching populist conclusions: https://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pmc/articles/PMC3658605/ … https://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/books/NBK409491/pdf/Bookshelf_NBK409491.pdf …

Sir: That meta-analysis does not show what you think it does,no matter how much it's spun. In fact, it's good evidence that acupuncture effects are clinically insignificant!https://sciencebasedmedicine.org/can-we-finally-just-say-that-acupuncture-is-nothing-more-than-an-elaborate-placebo/ …

Blogs, opinion pieces and news items hardly constitute evidence sir. If you have something to say about the methods, credibility of evidence of the studies that I offered, I'm all ears. As long as it is not just your opinion....These studies passed peer review, you have not....

So all published scientific reports are true? Why are there retractions? Some published articles particularly show that Metanalyses can be seriously flawed: https://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pmc/articles/PMC5020151/ …

          1) So Clinically insignificant that it is funded by German health insurers. I have personally benefitted for over 30 years. First to relieve tendonitis: watching inflammation go down instantly was no placebo effect.

          2) the 2nd major event was the relief of acute sciatica. I could hardly walk. After 2 treatments administered by an Australian, who had studied Chinese Medecine in Sidney, in Scotland I was walking again pain-free. Thank the Lord not all medics are so blinkered !!!

So, this is also spun? Or a bunch of quacadenics in insignificant journals? Might they had known the editor and bypassed peer review? What’s to be this time?https://jamanetwork.com/journals/jamainternalmedicine/fullarticle/2673371?guestAccessKey=def2f2a1-6c0a-4666-988e-8f3a4cdf8c6f …
