I'm not so sure--and I know that in this I disagree with you! It's worth a great deal of money (how much, I'm not sure) to demonstrate to the American public that alt-med is taken seriously, not dismissed. Cuts hard against "establishment conspiracy" narrative.

Is it worth between $120-130 million a year (@NIH_NCCIH budget) plus an additional $100 million a year from the @theNCI through its Office of Cancer Complementary and Alternative Medicine (OCCAM), especially when a lot of these therapies are based on magical thinking? I say no.
