I would agree as far as you have a right to speak back. And the rest of us have a right to point and criticize when you go ballistic and abuse a teenager, and tell you you're showing your nasty.

I'm sure David Hogg would agree that he's fair game for criticism. Here's the problem. It's gone WAY beyond mere criticism. Death threats and "crisis actor" conspiracy theories are not cool.

So gross to say he "inserted" himself, it's garbage. He has a right to share his views and feelings about what happened to him.
-
Indeed. "Inserting himself" implies that he's inserting himself into a discussion where he doesn't belong and isn't welcome. I'm sorry, but surviving a school shooting pretty much guarantees that you not only belong in the discussion but that your viewpoint is essential to it.

Ugh, this article was disgusting. I agree that public figures aren't immune from criticism, but he watched his friends and teachers get shot and die. And he's able to advocate while grieving. That's fucking brave.

Right- and the US only entered the WW-I after they blew up the Lusitania and WW-II after the bombing of Pearl Harbor. Taking up a cause as a result of a tragic event is not a criticism- it’s the way the world works.
