Speaking with her? How'd that come about?

Here, I meant. After I toned it down and apologised she DMed me and made it seem she was willing to listen to what I (and all the other docs) had to say, but it was a ruse.

Ah, well, I blocked her after she blocked me. That's my policy. You block me, and I'll be damned if I let you see my subsequent Tweets. I know that with most people it doesn't matter because they'll never check, but a few do.

What I learned that Marty Makary is a consultant on her show, and she claims he loves it. I know you're familiar with Marty's work, and that explains why she keeps throwing out that "third leading cause of death" nonsense.

That explains a lot. Here's my take on Makary's crap.https://sciencebasedmedicine.org/are-medical-errors-really-the-third-most-common-cause-of-death-in-the-u-s/ …

I not only read that, I cited it in my blog about her pilot episode.

I didn't see the pilot of
#TheResident when it aired, but all the discussion online led me to watch it on demand. The first four minutes, with a patient undergoing an appy exsanguinating in less than a minute and then everyone colluding to cover it up told me how bad the show is.1 reply 0 retweets 5 likes -

Along with the surgeon not knowing how to control haemorrhage (really?), exsanguinatimg in 15 seconds, doing CPR on the abdomen, and calling the code within 25 seconds. And then the collusion to cover it up. Really??

I was discussing this with a surgeon friend, who talked about a case where a surgeon hit the aorta by accident with a trocar during laparoscopy. The patient required many units of blood but survived. Patient's don't exsanguinate that fast.

I get people shot through the liver who don't exsanguinate. But this appy bled out in the OR in 15 seconds? Good grief.

I know. I'm still trying to figure out what the surgeon hit. Even if you transected the aorta, the patient probably wouldn't bleed out that fast.

Through all of this I'm still failing to see the extreme harm that is unique to this show that justified the need to be called out by Dr Eugene Gu. The largest harm I have seen is doctors eroding trust on Twitter with toxic language to non-colleagues when discussing healthcare.

It was my language that Gu called out, and rightly so. I went overboard. Bit he's never seen the show.
