Read the literature not the press coverage. these are planned cases with overlap that some specialists do routinely - neurosurgeons and ortho. Their literature supports it as safe. even the paper that does show harm shows no effect for about 2-3 hours of overlap.

So no, 3-4 case overlap is not a thing. 2 case elective overlap, while unusual, appears safe by most measures in the lit. I have no conflict here. i do not overlap elective cases. I do read the papers though.

Exactly. If I had enough residents and were ever allowed two rooms I could leave the resident to close one case while I moved on to the next. Since in breast surgeries we never stole but do two layer closures closing can take some time. I don't do this, though.
