Not exactly. It's chemoembolization, glucose deprivation, AND sodium bicarbonate. It doesn't at all resemble what "alkalinization" quackery is and what its advocates claim other than the word "alkaline."

Sure. But what they compare in the randomized arm is SoC with or without sodium bicarbonate. And the sodium bicarbonate arm does better. It suggests adjusting pH as a treatment strategy may be useful. Of course, not independent of dose, where/how it is injected, etc, etc, etc.
