That is very true and I think scientist politicians will never be a magic bullet. However, I also think politics is suffering from an extreme deficiency of randomized controlled trials for policy suggestions.

We got a neurosurgeon as a prime minister in Quebec. The healthcare system got turned into a damaging game of musical chairs. I’m not sure scientists and doctors necessarily make good politicians....
