The most obnoxious take I've seen on the long overdue demise of Chief Wahoo as the @Indians logo comes from @phillipfmorris of @clevelanddotcom, haughtily denies that outrage over the racist logo was ever a "legitimate civil rights issue." 1/http://www.cleveland.com/morris/index.ssf/2018/01/chief_wahoo_was_never_a_legiti.html …
And: "Now that Wahoo will soon be out of the picture, perhaps these activists will devote their passions to reversing the sad reality that Native Americans have the lowest life expectancy rate among all U.S. ethnic groups." 4/

And: "He outlived his purpose and became a contrived distraction. But, can his detractors now move on to some heavy lifting? Perhaps, we can find a way to donate Wahoo's legacy to science -- and the study of pointless division." 5/

Seriously, dude. Could you be more obvious expressing your contempt for Native Americans and their concerns than this? You'd have to work really hard at it. Your critics are right: Protesting Chief Wahoo and working on the problems you list are not mutually exclusive. Idiot. /end

Wait. Had to add one more: What makes Mr. Morris think that Native American activists are NOT working on the problems on reservations that he listed? Does he speak with them? Did he do any research? Or did he just assume that they all protest Chief Wahoo and do nothing else? /end
