Then there's the highly annoying "iT'S jUst A gaMe shOw!" response. They might have a point if this were @WheelofFortune and not @Jeopardy. Me, I prefer my Jeopardy! hosts not to have a history of antivax utterances and hawking brain health" supplements. https://twitter.com/steve_magruder/status/1425525666230018050?s=20 …

Frankly, the idea that someone's beliefs should disqualify them from a job, unless it is something truly hateful like Nazism, is bizarre to me.

When your job is attracting and maintaining an audience, all sorts of things can be relevant. If she believes that dog ownership is slavery and dog owners don't enjoy tuning in for a half hour as a result, well....

Thing is, her time as guest host was well-received, which pops that particular balloon.

I'll take your word on that, I don't know. But I stand by the point - if people don't like giving you influence, attention, or their money, because of your beliefs or extracurricular deeds, that's fair game for an employer to consider.

Out of over ten hosts, she ranked sixth in terms of ratings. In contrast, Levar Burton, who many have been pushing as an alternative, ranked dead last, admittedly due in part to competition from the Olympics.

Sixth out of ten, you say? Wow. Very middle-of-the-pack.

Actually sixth out of fourteen. Most of those above her were figures like Katie Couric who would be too expensive to hire on any regular basis.

I see that
@buzztronics got equal or better ratings and@KenJennings got significantly better ratings than@missmayim, on par with Richards. Of course, another thing that I noticed was that both Jennings and Richards had higher ratings, and they were the first two guest hosts.1 reply 0 retweets 0 likes -

It rather makes me wonder how valid using these ratings was. You could say that Jennings and Richards both got the best ratings because they were first. People might have been tuning in out of curiosity.

There appears to have been a downward trend regardless of host as time went on, with the exception of Aaron Rodgers, who produced the only significant upward blip in the ratings.https://www.nexttv.com/news/jeopardy-guest-hosts-ratings-how-they-rank …
