Mr. Singal, alas, is not a person who just disagrees on science. He’s a hard core GC advocate who does his best to appear “reasonable,” as I’ve learned the hard way since mid-June after our retraction of @ScienceBasedMed review of Abigail Shrier’s book.https://twitter.com/cathryntownsend/status/1423413993851531268 …

I missed this. Would you mind summarizing what happened, please?

Of course. This will consist of a few Tweets, each with a
@ScienceBasedMed link. It started with Harriet Hall writing a credulous review of Abigail Shrier's book that@stevennovella and I retracted.https://sciencebasedmedicine.org/irreversible-damage-the-transgender-craze-seducing-our-daughters/ …1 reply 0 retweets 8 likes -

Then,
@stevennovella and I explained what the problems were with the review.https://sciencebasedmedicine.org/the-science-of-transgender-treatment/ …1 reply 0 retweets 9 likes -

Then, I recruited (actually, they volunteered, but I definitely encouraged them) two experts in transgender medicine to discuss Abigail Shrier's claims and Lisa Littman's diagnosis of ROGD. Note the corrections. Mr. Singal basically weaponized pedantry against our guest bloggers, listing "19 errors," while siccing some of his fellow GC advocates on those of us with social media presences, claiming that at least one of the errors was "libelous."

We corrected the errors that were clear-cut. None of them, by the way, were major or affected the substance of our guest bloggers' articles. The rest, which are not really errors, will be addressed in future posts. My recent vacation rather got in the way of this task.

But, then, I no longer view Mr. Singal as someone whose complaints, attacks, and whims need to be answered or catered to on any but our own schedule, however much he tries to accuse us of "not caring" about "correcting errors."

Interesting. Sounds like you don't care about correcting errors
