Something worth noting - no matter how you look at it, the research community has royally fucked up when it comes to ivermectin

Admittedly this is just my anecdote, so take it with a grain of salt, but I haven't seen much efficacy from Remdesivir either. Dexamethasone seems to remain the most clearly efficacious medical treatment. But at least with COPD cases, azithromycin does seem to help.

If it worked we’d be sending it into peoples mailboxes. The notion that “they“ are trying to keep “us“ away from an inexpensive prophylaxis requires a delusional mental state.

perfect choice of words, thank you

How could one tell if these treatments actually worked or just a coincidence especially as Covid-19 affects people differently.
-
Clinical trials with a control group and enough participants to average out idiosyncratic reactions and cases. Same as every other drug on the market. (There’s a smaller safety trial first, usually).

Sure, but we could've easily had a large trial really testing the idea by now. If we'd rolled it into RECOVERY or SOLIDARITY, it might've prevented (or caused) literally millions of people to get the drug

We're still arguing about awful, low-quality evidence, but as a global research community that is a choice. We could definitely have tested this properly by now, and we really dropped the ball

I don't think so. Yes, it is not looking very good for ivermectin but we miss a good trial of a reasonable size showing it doesn't work. HCQ is a step further.

I have a friend who's beginning to question her belief in D. Raoult and her fear of vaccines. Can either of you point me to something that will explain ivermectin/HCQ and vaccine testing to her? She has no science background.
