There definitely is such a campaign for #ivermectin. It's pure astroturf, just as the campaign for #Hydroxychloroquine was before it, only slicker and more widespread.https://twitter.com/jgmrichter/status/1417966419841585152 …

There seems to be a sleek and a well-coordinated marketing campaign at its core. Nobody goes to that much trouble for something they're not somehow invested in. I'm sure there's a story here that will come out of it in a few months' time.

Basically, #ivermectin is the new #Hydroxychloroquine, and ivermectin advocates have learned from the campaign for hydroxychloroquine last year.

Honestly, they are basically being hawked by the same people who promote alternative medicine. And as with alternative medicine, if a therapy works so well, why did you have to find a new one?

Eh, at $1 a pill, I'd give a try if I were diagnosed early enough.

funny how the people who reject the vaccines as "not tested enough" are the same people who have leapt to pushing Ivermectin as a miracle cure 🤷‍♂️

The idea, of course, is that if there is a cheap "miracle cure" or preventative for #COVID19, then vaccines, masks, lockdowns, etc. become unnecessary.

Do not take #ivermectin unless you have heartworm and only under supervision from a veterinarian. This is much more likely to kill you than the #Covid #vaccination

I know you are joking, but ivermectin is a great drug in humans too. It has no plausible direct anti-viral mechanism of action.

Taking calls for primary care offices: “Hi. I’m John Doe, and I tested positive at CVS for the virus yesterday. I need my doctor to send a prescription in for hcq or ivermectin. Thanks.” On repeat over last few weeks.

I don't know if I could have survived the pandemic 26th my mental health intact if I were a primary care doc.

Tbf Ivermectin has a role, though not against covid. A possible explanation for a signal in some countries may be strongyloides-hyperinfection in endemic areas following dexamethasone for Covid; in which case Ivermectin would help. Still doesnt support routine use everywhere.

Funnily enough - there seems to be more than a bit of an overlap between the ivermectin-crowd; the hydroxychloroquine-crowd; and the vitamin C for sepsis nutjobs
