Watched the extended version of the LOTR movies with the family, and even though they didn’t say so, I could tell they really appreciated it every time I pointed out a scene that wasn’t in the original releases, or wasn’t in the books.

When Faramir said “the Ring will go to Gondor” I involuntarily shouted “Nooo!” in the theater.

I love the movies but I do hate that scene. It totally changes Faramir's nature from the books. Even though he did do the right thing in the end, it's probably the one change Jackson made that really irks me.

I can see why they did that - to manufacture a character arc for Faramir. But it was totally unnecessary, and still makes me mad

Jackson also made him such a stereotypical younger brother craving his father's approval. So annoying?

Getting all his men slaughtered because Daddy issues was not actually a character arc I enjoyed.

Aragorn vacillating about whether he was good enough to be King was also not great.

I could tolerate that better than what Jackson did with Faramir.
