Usual deflection in face of strong evidence. Ex. “What about the counterargument?” Brings the focus away from evidence. Buys time. If theyre lucky? Someone will feel maligned, then it’ll be “Focus on the courageous researcher”, etc.

Yep, plus secondhand threats from Elgazzar to sue for libel and claims that removing Elgazzar's study doesn't make their meta-analyses turn negative.
