It is indeed amusing to see someone who's helped her husband push an unproven
#COVID19 "cure" (#ivermectin) criticize@stevennovella and me for insufficiently rigorous science.

I am a vascular and cancer biologist and agree that the Circulation Research paper from the Salk institute, on which Weinstein’s vaccination fear, is based is problematic. We have checked ACE2 expression on many primary ECs and could not find it expressed.

… but I would no throw the baby with the bath water since Weinstein has some valid point in other areas of his discussion. Of course, ivermectin is probably more like hydroxychloroquine. I want to see it tested in the Don ingber organ-on chip model before claiming efficacy.

Am I correct in assuming that the in vitro model would provide better data pertaining to pharmacodynamics and toxicity than in vivo?

Greatly appreciated your thoughtful discussion on Ivermectin. Only had to watch one Darkhorse episode on mRNA vaccines to be very concerned that Weinstein's opinions were providing intellectual legitimacy to anti-vaxxers. Look forward to your blog on his views.
