I really don't understand these people who are up in arms about the tiny risk of myocarditis from #CovidVaccines and saying it's a reason not to vaccinate children but at the same time dismiss #COVID19 as "not dangerous" to children. I just don't get it.https://twitter.com/DrLeanaWen/status/1404903464820432900 …

A key fallacy is comparing the severity of children’s illness to adults'. It shouldn’t matter if adults are at greater risk if the illness among kids is itself a problem. Indeed, #covid19 is now a leading cause of death in children. And long-haul covid also exists for kids. /2

I mean, we can have a reasonable discussion of the risk-benefit ratio of #CovidVaccine in children in light of the ACIP meeting regarding myocarditis, but that's not what these people seem to be doing, at least not to me.

They just have a need to be contrarian and argumentative. Arrogance.

Right? I would rather take the 1% risk of serious problems with the disease than the 0.006% risk of the vaccine.....makes no sense at all.....

That odd small risk of myocarditis after vaccination for a disease that can cause myocarditis & with which 20% of infections in children go unnoticed.

Just wait until enterovirus really gets going and we’re seeing more and more enterovirus in unimmunized adolescents, like we do every summer. Except last year. 🧐
