I particularly like the Shrier apologists who took me to task for the firstTweet. To answer your question: Yes. If I ever found myself in agreement with Mike Adams on an issue of science or medicine, I would most definitely *seriously* reevaluate my position.

I mean, do you not know who Mike Adams is? It's theoretically *possible* that he could get the science right about *something*, leading to a reevaluation of a hypothetical position that we share not massively changing my conclusion. It's just incredibly unlikely.

That's not how I read the review anyhow. Everyone knows that gender correcting medical interventions are not risk-free.

(Good call, btw.)

Must agree. Elements of that review were pretty appalling. Like the "guru" part, for one.

Trans issues are important to me (for familyand friends). But having read and checked references at SBM and knowing SBM's level of quality, retracting a review I haven't yet read doesn't concern me in the least.

Mike calling SBM "Quackery" just caused my irony meter to go thermonuclear.

It is fantastic you removed that review. I stopped reading SBM quite a while ago over the questionable science that particular author was writing in regards to transgender issues. You've restored my faith in the science side of SBM.

Likewise. I had fallen away from reading the entire blog regularly when I left the skeptic movement over the anti-feminist rift, and I remember this particular author participating in the mudslinging with a tactless t-shirt. In light of that, the current issue isn’t surprising.
