So a certain prominent Skeptic has claimed that we at @ScienceBasedMed "have long openly displayed a far-left progressive political bias that has compromised their otherwise stellar reputation as a trustworthy source." Yet he cannot give any concrete examples from SBM.

I wish I could guess from the clues given who this person is, but none of this really narrows it down much.

Reminds me of the skeptical ob nonsense. She got pulled from sciencebasedmed pretty quickly. Her business was just to create drama and cherry pick data to counter what she felt like was dangerous. But doing worse science isn’t helpful.

Tempting but personally I wouldn’t do it. It’d end up becoming a ridiculous political debate, which in his/her eyes would validate their claim. I would either not engage, or deescalate & take politics out of the equation. After all, science should be agnostic to politics.

You are wise and probably correct. I probably went too far even mentioning what this particular Skeptic wrote, even as a subtweet.

Tbh, I've always found the whole Skeptics gang to be big on contrarianism and low on critical thinking, also high on hubris and self-assuredness that their subjectivity was entirely objective. It's how you end up with Bill Maher.
-
Ha! I've been taking Bill Maher to task for his nonsense since at least 2005 or so.
