Have to also remember: he is a comedian. He says things to get laughs.

I’ve always liked and respected Stewart but that was really painful. There was just a NYT article about Dr. Shi and the Wuhan Lab and while it is technically possible that the virus could have leaked from there, I think we need to remember these scientists are humans.
-
It’s very easy to fall into nationalism and say “look what the Chinese did” but after reading Shi’s statements defending her lab, I got the impression she was very sincere and bothered by the accusations of her and her colleagues work.

I also watched it, but I got the feeling he was just being facetious.

I didn’t. At least I wasn’t sure, and that’s bad enough.

Eh I thought it was a comedy routine. As a longtime fan of Jon, he is very clear that nobody should listen to him, a comedian, as he tells jokes. It was legitimately funny, and I don't personally beleive there was a lab leak.
-
Maybe I was up past my bedtime, but I really wasn't sure he didn't believe it.
