Ugh. Back in February 2020, the features of #SARSCoV2 DID look unusual and had been previously unknown. It didn't take long for scientists to discover, though, that there is nothing in the SARS-CoV-2 nucleotide sequence that can't be explained by natural evolution.

As Dr. Anderson explained himself on this very platform after Fauci's email was made public.

So many people have been exposed as poor critical thinkers by COVID. The easy thing to do cognitively was also the correct thing. Trust the expert consensus. Not hard for most. Really hard for some who fancy themselves "contrarian." They fell for conspiracy theories.

Dude, is there any risk to investigating the virus more? Now that our research facilities and academic labs are up and running, shouldn’t we re-investigate, as the Biden Admin already has? There’s no (absolutely) conclusive theory of the virus’s origin yet....

They're maybe "nothing conclusive" but the odds of this being a not naturally occuring zoonotic virus is exceedingly low. In science, we accept that all knowledge is preliminary and therefore subject to change which is why we have theories, not proofs.

You've got your hands full so I feel bad about asking for this, but if you have some citations, I'd be grateful for the links. No, I'm not a doctor or biologist but this question has come up in my family and I'd like to say the matter has been studied.

1.) agree 2.) changing from “potential that needs investigating” to “crackpot theory” in 4 days is a big shift.
