People should read the story for themselves but my "interpretation" is straightforward and self-evident. A group of people are discouraging the pursuit of knowledge and scientific truth for transparently political reasons.https://twitter.com/amymaxmen/status/1401682023320674304 …

I'd strongly encourage people to read the story. I'm fairly surprised that some of the principals in the story think it reflects well on them.https://twitter.com/NateSilver538/status/1398678561599508480?s=20 …

Nate SilverVerified account @NateSilver538I swear I'm sick of posting about the lab-leak stuff, but it seems very warped that a bunch of prominent scientists are saying we shouldn't investigate the claims for reasons that have little to do with science and lots to do with politics. https://www.nature.com/articles/d41586-021-01383-3 … pic.twitter.com/aznY8QPrjE49 replies 32 retweets 438 likesShow this thread -
Replying to @NateSilver538
Nate, don't go down the crank path. Noone's saying don't investigate the source. They're saying don't jump to conclusions or stoke unfounded rumours for political/trade/coldwar purposes. Try the "little green men" theory that's been floating around if you're missing conspiracies
