worked with an MD showed up 30 minutes late for his first pt & then sat in the workrm for another 20 minutes (despite several attempts to get him to go see the VERY ANGRY pt) I got frustrated, took a break+opened Twitter to find he was f*cking tweeting instead of seeing the pt

Horrible. I've been guilty of Tweeting while in clinic, but only when patients are late or no-shows and there's an unexpected chunk of time during which I can't motivate myself to dictate charts or sign medical records.

I really should use that time more productively when it happens, but I hate dictating charts so much that it's easy to procrastinate.

The point is that I would never keep a patient waiting in clinic because I was busy Tweeting or texting (unless the texting was with the residents or another doctor about an urgent patient matter, which does occasionally happen).
