Dumbest central line scene ever just aired on @NBCChicagoMed. The patient’s not just not in Trendelenberg, his heads propped up on pillows.🤦🏻‍♂️

And now the medical student’s being persuaded to put a chest tube in. This will go well…🙄

No supervision when the central line went in, and now no supervision when the chest tube goes in? 😬

Dick Wolf(creator of these shows)apparently either never listens to medical consultants or doesn’t bother to have them. Every show of his that has medical scenes does this sort of thing & it drives me nuts.

It gets worse- A RN talking a medical student through placing a chest tube for a PTX caused by that student trying to place a central line in that patient. Plus, the ER attending was not notified about the PTX…

@NBC airs/ed St Elsewhere, ER, Scubs, New Amsterdam, The Night Shift, Chicago Hope, and Chicago Med. Ya think they would have learned all the medical goofs by now??🥴

So - testing your circulatory system for aneurysms again? I don't know about the surgical bits, but those medi-drama labs are way faster than any I have ever worked in.
