Observation: You can easily be pro-vax & still anti-vaccine passport. (Even my own views on vax passports are mixed--esp in terms of implementation.) Yet, from what these commenters say, seems this crowd is mostly anti-vax or highly anti-vax sympathetic.

Of course. “Vaccine passports” are a form of vaccine mandate, and antivaxxers are rabidly opposed to any form of vaccine mandate.

They can lobby for a radical low incidence policy for covid then.

Sure. I meant that based on that potential for diversity in the anti-passport position, I wld've expected to spot some more explicitly pro-vax/anti-passport types than what seems to have shown up. As these events draw the most extreme types, they'd be in the minority. But still.

In other words, my original comment was about the seeming absence of the pro-vax/anti-passport types. The presence of the anti-vax/anti-passport types is no surprise.

They would like to retain their right to travel to poorer countries with less health infrastructure and potentially kill them. Rights, ya know

It’s not a mandate at all if it isn’t imposed by the government. At the business level, many businesses will choose not to require “vaccine passports” and it will and be very unlikely to significantly impede the lives of those who do not want to vaccinate. 1/2

The bottom line is that anti-vaxxers want zero consequences for their bad choices and, as they have always done, are displaying a complete lack of concern for the damage diseases that they carry may cause to others.

As an immunocompromised & disabled provider, I am fully ok with some places/services requiring proof of vaccination. My household is 100%vaxxed, but I would not feel safe traveling, flying, any sort of crowds or prolonged exposure without proof of vaccination.

I so want to go on another cruise. But no way if the unvaccinated are allowed on board.
