So, what would be better - conferred immunity? It takes natural and artificial out of the mix, but still kind of also describes vaccines - they confer immunity to you. There definitely is a need for two terms in case one proves to be shorter lived or less effective.

Vaccine induced active immunity would be the most accurate way to describe it. Your body still makes the antibodies, which is active immunity opposed to “passive” immunity where you receive someone else’s antibodies.
