I'm not saying that handwashing/sanitizing *isn't* very important, just that the sheer paranoia that was instilled at the beginning of the pandemic was probably excessive.

I consider(ed) handwashing/sanitizer/bare hand avoidance part of a bigger "risk limiting bundle" that included the more important/significant measures--masks/soc distancing. If I am paying attention to the little things, I'm definitely doing the more ones and vice versa.

This has been the pink elephant in the room for more than a year. As a school nurse, attempting to enforce mitigation strategies to keep staff & students safe, this has been the most frustrating part. Let's be clear about Sars-CoV-2 being airborne & what that means in schools.

I loved not having the usual flu, stomach virus & colds run through the household this year. 2 kids & a husband that normally travels frequently for work bring stuff home to me.

I’ve tried to find if there are documented cases of people being infected from a surface. I found one instance, in an elevator. Unless someone has recently sneezed on a surface and it is still wet, it seems the chances are close to zero.

Keep safe by being paranoid and washing sanitizing and try not to touch to many things.
