They can (and have) fudged the historical temperature data, but they can't fake the actual climate. Arctic sea ice has been growing for the past decade also. The popular narrative is now so entrenched it's believed by most to be immune from empirical testing/data. Not for me.

Lyall, you seem not to realize that Patrick Moore has no training or peer-reviewed studies in the climate sciences. Your accusation that the scientists are corrupt says more about you than them.

If everyone is on the take, doesn't that include climate deniers, too?Or because one agrees with them, they are pure.

Who are the climate deniers? Even big oil has signed up to mainstream climate narrative. There is no funded denier lobby. The tens of billions in funding for pro climate change lobby vs. essentially zero for the "denier" lobby is exactly why the science is so perverted.

There is huge money in climate - tens of billions of dollars. Paid researchers, academics, activist organizations, renewable energy players etc, all personally benefit from the largesse. No one benefits from "denying" it - they only pay financial, career & reputational costs.

You are accusing the climate scientists of being corrupt? Wow, that is quite the conspiracy theory.

If tobacco companies handed out billions of dollars of research grants to scientists to research why tobacco was not harmful, and renewed grants only to those reaching the "right" conclusion, soon enough "the science" would show tobacco was not harmful. Same dynamics w climate.

That is quite the rant... why should anyone care about your ramblings?

It’s also amusing, given how fossil fuel companies are copying the tobacco company playbook.

No they aren't. As usual, we have more unsubstantiated assumption masquerading as fact. All the big oil companies are now vocal in support of mainstream climate narrative and are making renewable investments. Real scientists check their facts rather than rely on hunches.
