Exactly. These people who claim we can't leave because of the Taliban ignore the fact that the Taliban will take over if we leave in 5, 10, 20 years. They want us to stay forever. The reality of the Taliban sucks but it is what it is.

If I were an Afghan parent with a young girl in school, I would certainly want Taliban control pushed back as long as possible. It’s a complicated issue with no clear right answer imo

Well at least at this point, the Taliban is probably not strong enough to take over the whole country. But the million dollar question is will the Taliban become strong enough or motivated enough to take over the country once we pull out entirely? Probably not but who knows?
