I believe the most effective result of allowing litigation against firearms companies will be for their use of “home defense” as an advertising slogan. This is fraud. All the evidence shows guns make your home less safe for you and your family. Guns have no role in safety.

If a company sold a burglar alarm that made it 2-3x more likely for you to die, more likely for your kids to be injured, die or commit suicide, and oh yeah, made your house a target for burglars to steal the alarm, you wouldn’t be able to advertise it as a home safety device.

Then they will defend the alarm saying there were 3 million uses of the alarm that prevented burglary! But when you look at the data you find over half were false alarms (that somehow resulted in criminal assaults - can’t stretch the analogy far enough) courts will be like

Then you find out when those alarms are stolen and sold to criminals, or sold by owners into the black market they somehow resulted in even more death and suffering...

In fact the only safe way to have the alarm will be to keep it unplugged and in a safe under lock and key. Because it’s not a safety device, it’s menace, a threat to everything you love. You, and society, would have less harm if you threw it in a river. Because it isnt safe.

Lost some followers for this one. I don’t know if it’s facts or tortured analogies, but Buh bye.

I lose followers all the time over Tweets. If you don’t drive followers away every now and then by spreaking truth, you are probably not saying much that’s worthwhile.
