Those who work in mineral extraction / weapons manufacture and other, lets say, right wing leaning professions may differ... Some that I know of have thought they could wade in over their heads on the pandemic
Given the total lack of any data on the subject bias of some kind seems to be the most logical explanation. Ironic to accuse engineers of being unscientific via an unscientific approach.
You'll note that I've gone one better than the engineers I've criticized in that I admitted the possibility of confirmation bias. Usually, engineers whom I've criticized, like @FatEmperor, don't even allow for that possibility. But whatever. Yawn.
