It includes NPs and PAs, and, yes, that's exactly the reason some physicians get a bug up their posterior over the term.

I apologize, I don't really understand what your comment is implying. It's clearly become the "cool" and/or politically correct attitude on
#MedTwitter to be "Oh, I don't care what you call me we are all in together

". It's just silly & not reflective of what is going on. -
Eg. A few months ago an entire group of pediatricians in Texas were let go & replaced with NPs. Talk to any EM doc for their perspective on this very real & difficult topic. Again, this is not to marginalize APPs. It's about physicians standing up for their education & value.

Am I right in assuming that the objection is because calling someone a “service provider” puts them on the same level as “lesser beings” and so isn’t giving them the respect they feel they deserve? Or is there something I am missing?
