So, @comcastcares, so much for my getting much work done tonight. (There’s only so much that I can do using my phone’s Internet access.) thanks for nothing!

The weird thing is, even though
@comcast Internet goes out all too often around my part of the Detroit area, it’s very rare for the TV to go out too. Total outages are quite rare. So WTF is going on? I guess I might as well go to bed and hope I have Internet in the morning.Show this thread -
If
@comcast doesn’t come through by 6am, I won’t be able to work from home, as I had previously planned to do, and I will NOT be happy with the company. Again. I pay a crapton of money for this.

Let’s just say that it’d be REALLY annoying to have to go into the office tomorrow just because
@comcast Internet is out, and I have Zoom meetings. End of rant/whine...Show this thread

A few days ago: internet suddenly out, so I check the various inside routes I know and seems the POP is not responding. Call ISP, they don't know nada. Turns out, electricity provider doing maintenance, '25 addresses affected', but one of those addresses was a pop serving 24k.

ISP seems pissy about it too.

It’s routine unplanned maintenance. They routinely fail to plan?

They've done this to me several times. "Scheduled maintenance" with no advance notice. Assholes.
-
The other thing they do is make no provision to keep their service up during power failures. That sounds pointless, but the power goes out fairly regularly around here, so lots of people have generators or batteries.
