I still bring my iPod on planes. What outdated technology do you still use willingly on a regular basis?

Of course you’re entitled to your opinion. But let me say that my son listens to his music in all formats from vinyl to digital. He also listens to actual radio programs.

And I listened to vinyl and cassette for the first half of my life until around 1990. Even after I got my first CD player then, I kept listening to vinyl for a long time because I had so many records.

Good/high quality cassettes weren't bad at all. Of course all modern tape mechanisms are made by one or two companies, and they are only making cheap ones now.

Antique collectors enjoy things because they're old, not because they're better.

Won't argue w/your assessmt re: issues but my 20 y.o. son worked online to save $ to buy himself a car & he chose a 1986 Pontiac Trans Am that has a working cassette player. His h.s. history teacher gave him 25+ tapes that he had. Wish I still had the tapes of my late grandma.

The sound always depends on the speakers, the ultimate source of the sound. You can have the best source, but if the speakers are lousy....
