Thank you for that rebuttal. Would you be interested in debating him?

I understand your position. However as someone who has an interest in but admittedly a hard time understanding everything that's being discussed. It would be helpful to see/hear a back and forth discussion about the topic.

I wish more individuals in the scientific community would be open to debating those they don't agree with specifically when it comes to Covid19.

Science isn’t settled in debate. It’s about the evidence and only the evidence.

Again I understand But the scientific community is failing to get that across to the general public. Many factors involved with that obviously. Its hard to communicate just on Twitter, but I wish there would be a more aggressive approach on addressing those misrepresenting topics

I wrote a post. @gorskon wrote a post. @AboutPediatrics wrote a post. I don't know a single person in the biomedical community who sees value in anything Bossche suggests.

Contrarians and cranks always want a "public debate" with scientists. it's nearly always a bad idea for a scientist to agree. I've been explaining why for over a decade.https://sciencebasedmedicine.org/brave-brave-sir-robin/ …

Basically, a "live debate" always favors the contrarian or crank. Always. That's because it's a lot easier to lay down BS than it is to refute it.https://respectfulinsolence.com/2013/04/26/all-truth-comes-from-public-debate-a-corollary-to-crank-magnetism/ …

Personally, I love to point to Andrew Wakefield's demand for a "live public debate" as an excellent reason for legitimate scientists never to do them with contrarians and cranks.https://respectfulinsolence.com/2013/04/18/andrew-wakefield-wants-a-live-public-televised-debate-oh-goody/ …

The funny thing about cranks and contrarians, too. They always want a "live public debate." If you offer to debate them in written form as a set of, say, blog exchanges, invariably they demur. No, scratch that. Invariably they ultimately refuse.

Great piece! I dropped the others on this reply. When you wrote, "And for that, I think Olmsted." I think you meant, "thank" ? Minor detail, but I know if it's in a medium I can edit, I prefer to be told so I can fix....
