Who’s had FB reject a post that “goes against community standards” & give you a warning (or even restrict your account) for trying to warn others about misinformation? I’m wondering if FB’s belated willingness to stamp out misinfo is having unintended consequences. Your thoughts?

Funny you should ask that question (and funny that I remembered you asking it). Just this morning,
@Facebook locked me, an@ScienceBasedMed, out of posting for 24 hours for an@oracknows post I featured on the SBM FB page.https://twitter.com/gorskon/status/1373636032575455235 …David Gorski, MD, PhD added,

The even more infuriating thing was that
@Facebook cited a "previous post" that violated hate speech standards. The post? During the pandemic I said that "Americans are idiots" over an article about an antilockdown protest. I contested it, and FB still said it was a violation.

This isn't the only time this has happened. Three weeks ago,
@BarryKarr let me know about a post of mine debunking antivaccine misinformation that was flagged as misinformation by@PolitiFact when he posted it on the@SkeptInquirer.https://twitter.com/gorskon/status/1366084542826766336 …David Gorski, MD, PhD added,

I just learned from@BarryKarr that you marked an article by me on@ScienceBasedMed posted to@center4inquiry's@Facebook page as "False and spreading disinformation." Again, WTF? I'm not a reporter, but you should totally pitch a story about this. All I can do is complain on Twitter (and, once the ban is gone) on Facebook (without a link to the material that got me banned).
