Can I get a
@Skepticscalpel or@gorskon who have actually done real research to chime in here? The lack of critical thought is giving me a headache.1 reply 0 retweets 0 likes -

Here’s the US version. ttp://skepticalscalpel.blogspot.com/2013/09/medical-errors-and-deaths-is-problem.html and http://skepticalscalpel.blogspot.com/2014/02/medical-errors-kill-hundreds-of.html … and https://qualitysafety.bmj.com/content/26/5/423.long … and http://skepticalscalpel.blogspot.com/2016/05/deciding-whether-adverse-events-are.html … and https://skepticalscalpel.blogspot.com/2018/08/more-proof-medical-error-is-not-third.html?m=1 …

There aren't figures for Canada, that's the problem. There is an organization that takes the US data from that 2016 John Hopkins study and uses a weird software algorithm to extrapolate to a Canadian "fact". And when you question the validity of the claim, you're a "denier".

I know the feeling. I've been scorned for several years about my debunking of the numbers.

I get particularly annoyed by people citing Makary as though he were gospel. His "estimate" is truly risible in how bad his methods for arriving at it were. Unsurprisingly, Makary has pivoted to #COVID19 nonsense.https://sciencebasedmedicine.org/are-medical-errors-really-the-third-most-common-cause-of-death-in-the-u-s/ …
