I'm amused by all the folks in "my generation" (and even a bit younger) complaining about #GRAMMYs last night, specifically about the "lewd" dancing, revealing costumes, and dirty songs. When is it that we became our parents and grandparents? 1/

Heck, I remember the outrage over an Elton John song, “The Bitch Is Back.”

_Alive_, _Destroyer_, _Love Gun_ and _Alive II_ all came out in fairly rapid succession during 5th, 6th and 7th grade for me. At that point, the wind got taken out of their sails (and sales) when every solo LP except Ace Frehley's ended up deemed "meh". Plus, Cheap Trick.

White girl here. Over 70. I can tell you, parents' eyebrows shot up in consternation when they heard James Brown come screaming on the scene.

Yup. "Rock And Roll All Nite", which I remember hearing for the first time on WLS coming back from (get this) a Cub Scout troop trip to the Salerno bakery factory in Niles in '75. Remembering that means there's either something very wrong or very right with my brain.
