How were Covid vaccines approved so quickly? By cutting red tape, not corners.

Not only. Three other things that fed in were intense concentration on #COVID19 by scientists and regulators, large amounts of government money, and a history of work on coronaviruses we could built on in developing these #vaccines.

Yup. It turns out that if you pour enough money into a project and have enough companies and scientists working on it, you get a result a lot faster than if you don't. Quelle surprise!

Yes it is such a surprise what can happen when a project is elevated to the top priority in the world. The anti-vaxxers don't understand this though.

Previous work sponsored by the DoD on rapid response mrna vaccine platforms back in 2011 and 2019 was also key.https://www.biocentury.com/article/304691/darpa-s-gambles-might-have-created-the-best-hopes-for-stopping-covid-19 …

Sure. Antivaxxers love to portray the technology behind mRNA vaccines as radically new, but it's not. They've been working on mRNA vaccines for something like 15 years.
